Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Semiconductor Summit 2026 held here has paved the way for Rs 15,800 crore investment in the sector, officials said on Friday.

The government highlighted the state's geographical location, industry-friendly policies, a peaceful industrial environment and a wealth of young talent at the summit, rolling out the red carpet for investors.

After the conference, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told reporters, "At this event, we allotted land to five semiconductor companies for projects with a proposed investment of approximately Rs 10,000 crore."

He added that the state government received new proposals from five companies with potential investment of Rs 5,800 crore in the semiconductor sector, and these projects could provide employment to over 10,000 people.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh, like Gujarat and Assam, has become a hub for the semiconductor industry in India, and the state government is ready to provide all possible support to investors through its attractive semiconductor policy.

Delegates from India as well as global semiconductor giants Japan and Taiwan are participating in the two-day conference.

Director of the Science and Technology Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India Dr Lung-Jieh Yang said that Taiwan could help train Madhya Pradesh's youth in semiconductor technology.

After receiving training in Taiwan, youth from the state would help develop technical expertise in Madhya Pradesh, he said.

Ashok Chandak, President of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association, said that there are bright opportunities for the semiconductor industry to grow in Madhya Pradesh as the state government is continuously taking initiatives in this regard.

Chandak also said that better coordination between the electronics and semiconductor policies of the central and state governments is necessary to promote the industry in India. Add as a Reliable and Trusted News Source Add Now!
